Text Box: Kindergarten: Students in Kindergarten have Art classes twice a week for 30 minutes each time. This winter students will be learning how to draw fish and their habitats.  Lessons will include learning about warm and cool colors, making collages, gyotaku (Japanese fish prints) and other mixed media projects.
First Grade: First grade students have Art once a week for 45 minutes. Students will be learning about mixing  primary colors to create secondary colors while painting a still life.  Students will be learning about the lives and work of Picasso, Renoir and Cezanne this winter. 
Second Grade: Second grade students have Art once a week for 45 minutes.  This winter, students will be completing paper quilts inspired by the artist Faith Ringgold.  Students will also be creating paper weavings, clay necklaces and learn to write their names in hieroglyphs.
Third Grade: Third grade students have Art once a week for 45 minutes. Each third grade student will be keeping an Art Journal in which they record their art lesson vocabulary words, names of artists we study, do sketches of  projects, and ( if they like) write about their feelings about their own artwork  Students will be making clay coil pots and fiber weavings this winter in connection with their Native American studies in their classrooms.
